Nambu Tekki Effects is a brand of effects pedals that, as the name suggests, are housed in Nambu Tekki (cast iron).
The case is heavier than those normally made of aluminium, and the sound is described by the company itself as 'thick sound pressure and fast picking response'.
The developer, Keijiro Fukushima, studied electronics at Tokyo Denki University in order to produce effect pedals, so this is not a mere gimmick, but a genuine product.
This model is an overdrive with a 3-band EQ.
It uses a style that is categorised as so-called transparent.
The gain range is rather wide, covering from clean to distortion levels.
The basic sound is of high quality and recommended for bass.
Just passing it through gives a three-dimensional impression and pushes the whole range.
The fact that it has an EQ is also convenient, and is especially recommended for bassists to use it as a pre-amp.
As for the distortion texture, it produces delicious overtones with a gallop, a nuance that I recommend especially for Fender guitars.
