HEX Guitars is a brand based in South Korea, specializing in products spanning the entry-level to mid-range price points.

With its own factory in Indonesia, the president personally resides on-site to ensure high-level quality control.

Because the president is so passionate about the craft that he personally oversees production rather than outsourcing to other factories, HEX produces guitars of unexpectedly high quality for their price point.

The NB505 is the foundation of the newly launched “NEXT SERIES.”

It features modern, substantial specifications like fretless options and active circuits.

The refined body shape utilizes Mahogany as its primary material.

The neck employs a laminated design combining Maple and Walnut.

By layering multiple woods to form the neck, lateral imbalance is minimized, delivering high stability and durability.

The fingerboard is Walnut with a relatively flat 12-inch radius.

The neck profile is a slim C shape with a relatively thin profile.

The frets are made of stainless steel.

Stainless steel is characterized by its lack of tarnish and high hardness.

Stainless steel frets remain shiny indefinitely and are extremely resistant to wear, making them popular.

They are also used by high-end guitar brands like Suhr Guitars.

The pickups are original single-coil designs.

They use original pickups on many models.

This isn't for cost-cutting; it stems from their confidence in the quality of their own pickup designs.

Staff who understand music and play daily meticulously researched and designed numerous elements like magnets, wire, and bobbins.

Features an original preamp with a 3-band EQ for flexible tone shaping.

The EQ frequency bands are practical: BASS 50Hz, MIDDLE 1kHz, TREBLE 6kHz.

Controls include Volume (push-pull switch for active/passive switching), Balancer, BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE. (Preamp gain can be adjusted from the back panel)

The balance in hand is excellent. Even players accustomed to Fender instruments will find the HEX NB comfortable to play.

No special headless strings are required; standard bass strings (like those for Jazz Bass or Precision Bass) are compatible.

It delivers a clean, headless-style sound while retaining musical harmonics and substantial low end.

The exceptionally high quality of the basic neck construction ensures excellent playability. It's difficult to say it falls short even when compared to instruments priced around ¥200,000.

Overall, this is a superb product with high quality in every aspect: looks, playability, and sound.

While its headless design might deter some, I strongly encourage you to try playing it.

You'll likely be surprised by its high quality.

As a side note, I met them at the Sound Messe in Osaka, 2024.

At first I misheard the price as 6000USD and put the deal on hold, thinking "the quality is high, but so is the price.

However, I later realized that I had misheard and that the price was actually 600 USD, so I contacted them immediately.

A few days later, we had another meeting in Seoul and agreed that GIB, TONIQ would be responsible for HEX's commercial distribution in the Japanese market.

Since then, we have had frequent meetings with them, and we have finally succeeded in starting the sales this time.
