Bacchus is a Japanese brand based in Nagano, Japan.
It is a brand under the umbrella of Divisor, which owns a large guitar factory called Asuka Factory, and is appreciated by many musicians for its high quality because it is handmade by the factory itself.
This model is based on the traditional Stratocaster style, but is equipped with two powerful humbuckers.
The main feature of this model is the use of roasted maple in the neck.
Roasted maple is originally a Finnish technique, pioneered by Kansai-based brand Sago in terms of its use in musical instruments.
The wood is treated at high temperatures to volatilise moisture and increase rigidity. Naturally, wood that has been distorted during this treatment is not used.
The result is a high quality product in two ways.
The sound is well-proven, and in a good way, it feels less like a new instrument.
It has a wide range and warm nuances, which makes the sound juicy and happy.
It is astonishing that this neck is used, yet it is priced at an overwhelmingly low price of 30000 yen (excl. tax).
Its versatility for a wide range of rock and pop music is a big attraction.
